I may have just become a sports fan!

   A Commissioned work......

I had someone ask me if I ever did sports team logo's on letters before.  Of course I said I would be glad to.  And, I am so glad I did!

I did this one in a J because its the first letter of the first name of the man whose wife commissioned it. Actually, it wasn't an epiphany, I was asked if I ever did this sort of thing, and I said I would. Voila! I'm pumped about this! I'm thinking of doing a T for the Tennessee Titans, and a P for the Nashville Predators, a T for the University of Tennessee, a V for Vanderbilt..... a G for UGA, another G for the Gainesville Red Elephants, have you got any other suggestions?

I Love You A Rebus Poem

by Jean Marzollo, illustrated by Suse Macdonald

This is our February book for "read it once again".  I like this book.  It's a very sweet poem about love.  I perfect book for Valentine's Day.

Our book for January was " The three Billy Goats Gruff".

not a favorite of mine.

I drew the three billy goats on our dry erase board, and I was not happy with it.  But, what do you expect when my heart wasn't in it.

Any hoot,  I was more than happy to do a banner with some of the illustrations of  "I Love You" .

This photo hasn't captured the entire page I drew, but it is most of it.

Here is a better breakdown of the entire picture, of course it takes 2 photo's.

I thought it turned out good.  I did it in record time, but then when you are really into something and love it.... it comes fast!

My website....?

I wanted to let everyone know, just in case..... My website www.allbeckyscreations.com is down for a time.  I decided to move to another web browser, so it may be a week before I'm back up.  But, don't think I won't tell you when it is up!
Thank you for your patience!  My facebook page and Etsy site are still up and running.....

Christmas is coming... (too fast)

Schroeder in tree

Schroeder taking refuge….

A week ago I would have said that this season is just too busy.  Too much to do!   I had planned on participating in a Christmas Marketplace in Portland TN.  called “Last Chance Santa”.I was so totally excited,  my first crafts fair.  I spent all last week catagorizing, pricing and tagging all my work.  I had collected all the items I felt one would need for booth decor.  I installed a program in my phone for scanning credit cards.  Collected lights, banners, receipt books, table cloth, the works…..   however, since this is my first, I didn’t want to go overboard, so I rented an outdoor booth?  Outdoor, and this is December…?  What was I thinking?  (I have no idea!)  Not only would it be as cold as H*)), but I had no canopy.  Just shake your head, I am!As is usual in Tennessee during December, it began to rain, fortunately for me it was in time to make a quick withdrawal from the Marketplace, and thankfully for the organization, ” Sweet Tea & Shopping”http://www.facebook.com/sweetteaandshopping and the lady who organized this event, she was able to move my participation to the Spring Spectacular (March 28 & 29, 2014).  I am a happy lady! So, instead of being so so busy with this weekends event, and next weekend with my daughter at a Christmas marathon in Alabama, I had the weekend off!  Yay!I have always said that the best job in the world is that of a meteorologist.  Due to the ability to be wrong every day of the week and still keep your job.  Rain was suppose to turn into sleet, the temperature was going to drop to freezing and we were suppose to wake to a “Winter Wonderland”.New York in winterNO Such Luck!rainMore like this……So, George Schroeder and I put up the tree.Schroeder in contemplationAnd we made some corn chowder…. (only for my consumption, much to George’s dismay…..)The sweetest dog in the worldand then we sat and watched Christmas specials in my nice warm apartment.  So, all is not lost!

Give Thanks! (better late than never)

It’s gonna be Thanksgiving soon!  Wow!  My life is flying, and I’m trying to catch up…  Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t!

My newest addition to the Etsy Shop  www.etsy.com/allbeckyscreations.

Each letter is painted brown with green and gold leaf.  Each is an individual letter to be hung as you like.

I love the sentiment in these two words.  Something to ponder during the Holidays, but also every day of our lives.  We should always give thanks for all the good in our lives and in the lives of those we love and care for.
I should have started these earlier, like before Halloween.  But, hence that is not when I started.  I promise that I am not a procrastinator, but it would appear so…. NOT!  No matter…… Here they are!

I will be adding a self designed purse soon.  I’ve just begun to work on this purse, normally they do not take this long, but since I have no pattern to use…. just doing it as I go.  (Eek!)  it will be a little longer.
I’ll tell you what pattern I’ve been using and it must come to a halt!  Procrastination….. I always get this way around the Holidays…. I don’t know why, because I love this time of year.  I have always had a sneaky suspension that it has something to do with not wanting it to come so fast.  My life use to not go by so fast.  I think it would work better if it just wouldn’t do this.  As we get older, we should be able to savor each and every moment.  Well, we can savor these moments, if we can catch up with the moments that are flying by!
SchroederintreeIt’s gonna be here before I know it!  And, I love it so I’m glad it is…..

??????????

My latest paper mache letter - "O"

I saw an Opium Poppy for the first time recently. These flowers have such delicate petals of pink, red, orange and purple. Just had to paint them on a letter. So, what better letter than the "O". The stamen is such a contrast from the petals, the flower just pops with color!
This paper mache letter is 8 inches.

Since I have decided not to sell my "P".  Mainly because I am not to happy about it.  I have almost worked my way through the alphabet.

I must admit that I do have a time taking pictures that are light enough.  I tried taking several pictures of this "O", but this is the best.... and yet a little dark.  ??????????

I took this one outside, but hence.... still a little too dark.  Ahhh, maybe not.  What do you think?  I'd love to hear.

So here are my letters, from A - O and maybe the P, but it will not be going in my Etsy shop.  www.etsy.com/AllBeckysCreations

I think these run the gamut of ideas.... child like themes,  whimsical themes, and with the flowers maybe just a few that adults might like.  I also have some letters that I have done for specific people..... here they are

Amelias A

Blairs B the one that started it all

and an "R"  that was given as a wedding present, the only picture I have is sort of blurry

Scot and Jessica

I thought this was a real cute idea, I painted lace on the very large letter in the couples favorite colors and attached white flowers in the bend.

On to a special item, I hope in time for Thanksgiving.....

Dad's Portrait

Maybe just a little tweaking, but I think I did better after previewing the eyes, which always seem to be an area to be worked on.  This is what I had to work with......

Dad0001

This is my first attempt before I realized that his eyes were all wrong.  Again, these eyes!

Something went terribly wrong.

Something went terribly wrong.

After a little self reflection and completely starting over.... this is what I came up with.....

DSCN0529

I realize that my Dad's actual face is a little longer than this..... some tweaking of the neck is in order, I'm closer than I've ever been at creating a portrait that actually looks like the person I'm doing the portrait of.  He Ha!

Please remember that this is only my second portrait....."Ever!"
